2025 Spring Evaluations

 

 

2025 SPRING EVALUATION LINK  REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN  FROM  FEB 14 to MARCH 16*   http://ooaa.rampregistrations.com/   *The closing date is subject to change based on ice availability. Players should register asap if they want to secure a spot.

 

Registration for the 2025-2026 Spring Evaluations will be open from February 14 to March 16.  

The maximum number of commitments that each team will be able to make will be posted once registration opens.

Okotoks Oilers Athletic Association is releasing the following information in response to Hockey Alberta’s update to the Elite Hockey Team formation guidelines.  For full details please visit our website to view Hockey Alberta's Elite Hockey Team Formation Update (posted Feb 13, 2025) found under the Hockey Alberta Memos tab.  

Elite Host associations can hold Spring Evaluations between April 1st and June 1st and are eligible to commit to players following these evaluations.

OOAA available commitments for 2025/26 Spring Evaluations

Evaluation Changes:

1. Spring evaluations will run April 7-17th. 
2. Players must attend Spring evaluations to be eligible for commitment. 
3. Please note players who didn’t participate in a Hockey Canada Sanctioned program in 2024/25 will be required to purchase insurance separately to be eligible to attend.
4. Player Commitments
1. Completed and announced no later than August 1st
2. Players will have 48 hours to review, commit and pay their deposit after the player receives a commitment letter.
3. $3,000 Deposit for AAA teams (excluding U13AAA)
4. $1,500 Deposit for AA teams and U13AAA
5. Deposits are equivalent to 50% of the first cash first cash call and will be applied to the team account. 
6. Deposits are non refundable with the exception of the following:
• Season ending injury prior to team formation.
• Parents move outside of the draw zone or the Province prior to September 1st.
• If a male player makes a WHL or AJHL team.
• If a player makes an AAA team in AEHL or AFHL on either an Elite player Movement, Second tryout or potential first tryout as in the case of U18AAA Female which has open borders.
7. Deposits can be made by cheque or credit card. 

Credit card deposits are subject to a 3% credit card admin fee.

1. Players that receive an AA commitment can still tryout for AAA. 

They will have to either be invited to main camp from the spring evaluation or attend the open tryout and receive an invite after the skates.

1. The AA commitment guarantees that they will not play lower than AA for the 2025-2026 season.

1. A list of committed players and main camp invitees will be published on the OOAA website. No later than August 1.
2. Conditioning Camps will start mid August. 
3. Main AAA Camps in late August and early Sept.
4. Committed players must register and pay for main camp. Prorated refunds will be issued to U18 players that are away at Junior camps or are injured with a Dr note.
5. AA Tryouts will follow AAA Main Camps.
6. Players that receive AA commitments for the Oilers and Raiders must register with OMHA when their registration opens in late June.
